Front-end web developer
I'm a London based front-end developer with over 12 years' experience. During the last two years I created and maintained a style guide for government services; viewed by over 30,000 people worldwide and replicated by other government guidance projects.
I'm very well-organised, hardworking and polite. I have a great eye for detail and I'm keen to keep learning new things.
Nov 2013 - Present - The Government Digital Service (GDS)
Senior front-end developer
I work within the agile multi-disciplinary Service Manual team, improving the guidance GDS produces for building digital services. Over the past six months, I have built and iterated a prototype for user research and built the production front-end for the new Service Manual.
I manage GOV.UK elements - a front-end style guide I created in 2014, which shows how to use GDS's existing tools to create a GOV.UK look and feel; with examples and code snippets to show best practice, the Sass for which is published as a package to npm.
I share a responsibility to maintain the GOV.UK front-end repositories - a Sass toolkit of variables and mixins, a GOV.UK-style template and a Node prototyping kit - used by designers across government.
I also spent six months working as lead front-end developer on GOV.UK Verify, the government's identity assurance programme.
2010 - 2013 - Little Digital Ltd
Director of a limited company providing freelance front-end services.
I freelanced for three years, working with Razorfish, Nation, Lean Mean Fighting Machine, With Associates, Ragged Edge Design and many more studios and agencies.
Highlights include development of front-end templates for Damien Hirst, Emirates Air-Line and Inside The Edit.
